Semi Submarine in Andaman Islands
The experience revolves around a semi-submersible, which has both above-water and underwater spaces for tourists to view the sights from. The amazing activity is being seated in a dining room that is gliding under the water, slow enough to let marine life catch up and pass by the windows, which also offer a view of the reefs. The round tour is about an hour-and-a-half-long, beginning and ending at the same designated point at Port Blair.
Semi-submarine is divided into two vertical sections, the upper section above the sea level and the lower section goes underwater. Semi-submarines are surface vessels that are not capable of diving, with accommodation space below the waterline featuring underwater windows, like glass-bottom boats, but deeper. They are mainly used to provide sight-seeing trips for tourists in clear, calm, and often shallow, waters. Design is similar to a small ship where the passenger cabin is deep in the hull, a few meters below the waterline. The cabin is equipped with large underwater windows so the passengers can observe the marine environment that is passed during the voyage.
A semi-Submarine ride is the best activity for those who don’t want to give deep inside the ocean and yet want to observe the underwater world.
